Beyer et al. 2015, Heavy-slow resistance versus eccentric training for Achilles tendinopathy

RCT (n=58) comparing eccentric and heavy-slow resistance loading over 12 weeks for chronic midportion Achilles tendinopathy. Both produced large, lasting gains in VISA-A (mean 74 at 12 weeks rising to 87 at 52 weeks) with no difference between groups; heavy-slow resistance gave higher patient satisfaction. Strong (Level 1 RCT).
