Fradkin, Zazryn & Smoliga 2010, effects of warming-up on performance

Systematic review with meta-analysis (J Strength Cond Res) of warm-up studies. Performance improved in the large majority of cases examined. Mechanisms: elevated muscle temperature speeds rate-dependent contractile properties, raising power and rate of force development more than maximal strength, with post-activation potentiation further enhancing fast forceful contractions.
