Kongsgaard et al. 2009, Corticosteroid, eccentric and heavy-slow resistance for patellar tendinopathy

RCT (n=39) comparing corticosteroid injection, eccentric decline-squat training and heavy-slow resistance over 12 weeks. All improved symptoms short term, but corticosteroid relapsed; heavy-slow resistance gave good short- and long-term results with improved tendon structure and collagen turnover. Moderate (small RCT, consistent with the wider loading literature).
